The American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons is the primary credentialing and advocacy organization for the surgical treatment of obesity in the United States and the world.
ASMBS
The Obesity Action Coalition helps link patients and providers with policymakers, insurance commissioners and legislators to help improve access to care for medical and surgical treatments for obesity. Patients interested in advocating for better insurance coverage of bariatric therapies can get involved here.
