In a recent large-volume study published in the Annals of Surgery, bariatric surgery was associated with a 33% reduction in any cancer! The reduction was even higher for obesity-related cancers including breast, colon, and pancreatic. This is a tremendous confirmation of what many in the bariatric world have suspected for a long time, and I hope this word spreads to all providers and patients soon!
